Due to the action of unbalance forces during machine operation, a motion is created which repeat itself after an interval is called vibration or oscillation. Vibrations are critical for a machine to perform well at all designed speeds and other dynamic motions such as feed, rapid etc. But, sometimes this criteria can go haywire , red-flagging the maintenance department. Each machine has a vibration signature unique to itself that may be regarded as normal or inherent. But sometimes, pulsing vibratory motions, shock impulses, unnatural shaking movement which may or may not be accompanied by noise , may occur – that warrants attention.
